Leslie Kaz, RHU
President and CEO
Leslie Kaz is the President and CEO of Syndicated Insurance Agency, the Limited Liability Company he co-founded in 2004. Born in Park Ridge, Illinois, to parents with strong Midwestern values, Leslie attended Western Illinois University in Macomb before exchanging that region’s brutal winters for life in southern California in 1989. After acquiring his Life and Health Agent License in 1994, he did his initial training with Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, where he specialized in helping public and private school teachers maximize their retirement benefits. Later he became Senior Account Manager at GNW-Evergreen Insurance Services. There he spent ten years managing group and individual policies of all types and sizes. To further his knowledge of the industry, Leslie completed his Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation in 2003.
Leslie became an active member of the North Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, Woodland Hills Chamber and Chatsworth/Porter Ranch Chamber. Serving on the board of directors for the North Valley Chamber and as Ambassador Chairperson for at each chamber. He became actively involved in the Senior Services Resource cluster; a group of like minded individuals providing targeted resource to the senior marketplace.
As a Charter member of JCI/ San Fernando Valley Jaycees in 2006, Leslie served on the Board of Directors as Secretary for 2 years both on the local and state levels. Leslie actively worked on the American Cancer Society's Relay for life in 2007 providing leadership to the logistics of the event. He was also a recipient of the San Fernando Valley Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award for his significant achievements in business & volunteerism in the San Fernando Valley.
By 2009 Leslie served as president of board of directors for the LAPD West Valley PALS program. The West Valley Youth Board serves over 80 “at-risk” children a day by providing them a safe environment where children can benefit from direct interaction with Police Officers for mentoring, tutoring, after-school activities and field trips.
By 2012 with all of the upcoming changes to the insurance industry brought on by the Affordable Care Act, Syndicated Insurance focused on the specialized market segment of Medicare/Medi-Cal insurance.
Leslie loves his job of being able to provide added benefits to his senior client base.
Jason Vallejos is the Vice President of Business Development for Syndicated Insurance Agency, the Limited Liability Company founded in 2004. Jason Vallejos was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and resides in the San Fernando Valley. At a very young age, Jason volunteered with various charities and organizations including the American Red Cross. In 1994 Jason assisted the victims of the Northridge Earthquake with claims filing, shelter, food, and clothing, as an American Red Cross volunteer. Here is where Jason first understood the necessity of insurance and the value it brings to communities during disasters. Later, as a healthcare business analyst, Jason developed a passion for helping seniors with their healthcare needs and is currently a leading expert in Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage Plans. Jason also networks with various businesses primarily healthcare providers and enjoys referring to local community professionals.
After high school, Jason began working in travel and later in the import/export business where he had the opportunity to travel globally and study abroad, visit almost every US state and learn about entrepreneurial business, management and seminar training. After leaving the import/export business as a global trade consultant and credit manager, Jason was hired in 1998 by Blue Shield of California as a Retention Specialist and later as a Senior Business Analyst reporting to the health plan's leadership team where he provided sales projections, marketing analysis and operational recommendations for the Medicare Advantage HMO, Medicare Supplement and Individual & Family Plans.
Through this diverse career background, Jason acquired knowledge on small business, actuarial analysis, insurance, networking and managed care. With a passion to serve seniors, families and healthcare professionals, Jason proudly became a California Licensed Insurance Agent in October 1999. Throughout the years, as the needs of our community change, Jason continues rigorous educational standards in Senior Health Care, Life insurance Designations and Business Insurance.
Jason’s standards of service include healthcare provider relations,business development and producer education. By assisting providers in growing and retaining patients for their offices, Jason feels confident that the people our agency helps, will receive the best quality of healthcare they deserve. The wealth of industry knowledge Jason has acquired is shared with the agents representing Syndicated Insurance Agency, LLC.
Jason absolutely loves his career and always looks forward to meeting with healthcare providers and clients to discuss their specific needs, along with his team of producers. Jason is bilingual as he speaks both English and Spanish fluently.
As a community leader, Jason is a Board of Directors Member with Los Angeles Valley College Foundation, a committee member with the Latino Mental Health Conference and an active member with City Club Los Angeles.
Director Provider Relations
Ed is a native Californian who grew up in West Los Angeles California and attended local public schools, including University High School and Santa Monica City College. He received a football scholarship from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and a secondary teaching credential.Ed worked at the Westside Family YMCA from 1970 – 1998, dedicating himself to 24 years of service in building strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout the greater Los Angeles region. In addition, Ed worked with youth, teens, and adults in Santiago, Chile in 1976. He also held the position of Fitness Leader of Cardiac Therapy Patients at the Westside Family YMCA Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. He became the Executive Director of the Mid-Valley Family YMCA, beginning in 1989 and continuing for seven years; he assisted with youth programs, child care, community impact teams and the Valley Gang Peace Treaty. Ed was instrumental in providing Blythe Street youth and their families with their first YMCA residential camping experience.
Ed became the President/CEO of New Directions for Youth in 1998. Under Ed’s direction, New Directions for Youth provided comprehensive social, academic and vocational services for at-risk youth and their families. As of 2003, nearly 75,000 youth, the majority of whom came from very low-income families residing in the under served geographic area, have received critically needed social services through the expertise of personnel working for NDY.
In pursuing these goals, Ed has collaborated with key community institutions and leaders such as the LAPD, County Probation, LAUSD, Juvenile Courts, L.A. County Office of Education, Department of Children and Family Services, LA County Office of the Department of Mental and other youth-serving community based organizations, as well as local elected officials.
From 2003 – 2012 Ed was the Executive Director of El Centro de Amistad which provides mental health programs for children, adults and seniors in the greater San Fernando Valley.
Ed is past President of the Rotary Club of Van Nuys, and a current board member of the Rotary Club, the San Fernando Police Council, Foundation Awards, Latino Behavioral Health Institute, Board of Trustees of the West Hills Hospital Medical Center and the Co-Chair of the Department of Mental Health Latino Under Represented Ethnic Population Committee.
Jose Luna, Sr.
Licensed Insurance Agent
Jose Luna joined Syndicated Insurance Agency as a licensed insurance agent in 2019. Jose proudly serves bilingually English/Spanish throughout Southern California.
Jose Graduated from East Los Angeles College in Medical terminology, coding and insurance billing. Jose has worked to serve the community since 2001, assisting families enroll in State sponsored programs like Medi-Cal and the former Healthy Families Program. Helping families even after hours and during weekends to meet their schedule and availability was well recognized.
Jose has been in the forefront helping a number of medical doctors establish and grow their practices from the ground up by assisting and advising families and members maintain medical coverage that adequately serves their specific needs. Jose has more than ten years of experience in member retention and growth of medical practices in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas and has been working alongside their medical groups as well. Now, Jose is dedicated in serving as a licensed insurance agent the senior and special needs community.
